Weirdest thing:
Lightbox view is one of my favoritest things about SmugMug. Heck, I like it so much I hacked together my own view of Phanfare to do that same thing:
Fanphan Gallery of an Ozomatli Show (http://www.darryl.com/fanphan/showthumbs.php5?album_id=379023&album_name=Summer+Haze&album_date=8%2F11%2F2007&album_descr=Ozomatli%2C+G.+Love+and+Special+Sauce%2C+Slightly+Stoopid+at+Berkeley%27s+Greek+Theatre&session_id=ERnK4Gn5SyrCEpMaOBRd&name=darryl§ions=a%3A1%3A%7Bi%3A519550%3Ba%3A2%3A%7Bi%3A0%3Bs%3A8%3A%22Ozomatli%22%3Bi%3A1%3Bi%3A33%3B%7D%7D§ions=a%3A2%3A%7Bi%3A519550%3Ba%3A2%3A%7Bi%3A0%3Bs%3A8%3A%22Ozomatli%22%3Bi%3A1%3Bi%3A33%3B%7Di%3A519629%3Ba%3A2%3A%7Bi%3A0%3Bs%3A25%3A%22G.%2BLove%2Band%2BSpecial%2BSauce%22%3Bi%3A1%3Bi%3A36%3B%7D%7D§ions=a%3A3%3A%7Bi%3A519550%3Ba%3A2%3A%7Bi%3A0%3Bs%3A8%3A%22Ozomatli%22%3Bi%3A1%3Bi%3A33%3B%7Di%3A519629%3Ba%3A2%3A%7Bi%3A0%3Bs%3A25%3A%22G.%2BLove%2Band%2BSpecial%2BSauce%22%3Bi%3A1%3Bi%3A36%3B%7Di%3A519633%3Ba%3A2%3A%7Bi%3A0%3Bs%3A16%3A%22Slightly%2BStoopid%22%3Bi%3A1%3Bi%3A23%3B%7D%7D&this_section=519550)
But here's what's weird. On an Ubuntu 7.04 Linux machine, w/ Firefox 2.0.0.6, every site that uses Lightbox (or Litebox or the Triptracker.net slideshow widget) slows the machine down to a crawl. The Xorg process starts going nuts with CPU usage, and until I close the floating transparency thing, the box is basically unusable.
Has anybody else ever seen this kind of thing on a Linux box? w/ Mozilla? Clearly it has something to do with the transparency/opacity stuff that YUI, script.a.licious, etc use. But I couldn't find anything about it w/ Google.
Thanks!
