I like the expression of the lady in the first, and I love the difference in expression in the second shot. The one on the left looks like she thinks you're an endangered species, the one on the right, well I think she's on to you and only pretends to read in her binder. Great shots, I really love the feel they give, mainly because of the good contrast and sharp light.

Both are excellent photos Harry.

I wonder what the lady was dealing with in the first one. You can tell she wasn't taking anything from anyone. I bet she was a veteran of the subway system.

The blond in the second on is almost disturbing with that cold stare. Did she know you were taking her pic & she wasn't happy? Or did you take the picture because of her blank look?

That sony was a great candid camera. I've actually been looking to buy another one. It's the camera that i miss the most. Great picture quality, swivel LCD & IR capabilities.

Thanks. The NYC subways were an ideal place to shoot candids. The second shot shows the two most common ways of dealing with the intrusivenss of riding the subway. The lady on the left has the blank NYC subway stare which looks at the scene yet avoids eye contact. The second is to look at a book or newspaper but not really read what you arre looking at.

Hi Dave,

The Transit worker in the first pic was fielding questions, complaints, and unsolicited comments on a delay in service on the 2 line. She had no answers or info to provide andwas proud of it.

They two women in the second shot had no idea I was taking the shot. I was in stealth mode with the 717 on my lap. I took the shot because they were perfect examples of how folks dealt with the indiginites of riding the subway duirng rush hour. One looking w/o seeing or making eye contact and the other just trying to block it out

Thanks Lynn. The splashes from the rib sauce off of Andy's ribs was a daily hazard. Its much easier in Florida where I only have to watch out for gators and fire ants. :haha

Thanks Angelo. I worked in the S. Bronx and Baychester portions of the Bronx while I was living in the Kingsbride section for a number of years.
