Well, the California Poppy Reserve bloom season is starting, so I went for a visit today...

oh nutty - you beat me to it. I'm going to try to hit the area this weekend. With all the rain we've had I bet the blooms will be magnificient this year. WooHoo!

But.... these are not poppies you shot! :dunno :scratch

are you sure those are poppys,:dunno look to yellow and i do not think they come in white ??

You are both correct, these are not poppies...They are another wildflower...I think they are known as Coreopsis, but commonly grow near the poppies. I guess the poppies haven't started blooming yet. We still have time. Sorry for the false alarm. :D
