I see the Orton bug has bitten you, LOL! It's really fun to play with, dare I say, but don't overdo it?:D

Tom, really neat.:thumb

I had to look up to see what an "Orton" shot was.

So you inspired me! Click here (http://cspics.smugmug.com/photos/202881667-L.jpg)if you want to see my attempt (i won't hijack your thread).

Lovely Image Tom, I'm quite taken with this effect too, it really suits certain images and I think you've picked good candidates.

I liked the effect too so went searching for the process. Found this:http://www.pcin.net/update/index.php/2006/11/01/the-orton-effect-digital-photography-tip-of-the-week/

Nice work Tom and John.

here's a link to a video for a more complicated, 3 layer orton technique.

http://lakehyatttrout.blogspot.com/2007/03/3-layer-orton-video.html

What it gives you is the ability to maintain the sharpness in selected areas of your shot using a layer mask.

Three layers---I really like this idea of keeping some things sharp. I will have to watch this a few times to take notes. Thanks for the link :D .
