These guys posed nicely for me in a patch of really nice light

Then, another pair started calling from nearby, and these went ballistic

you know I had to go look this one up :dunno very nice look at the bird:thumb I see they eat termites can you send me one please :scratch so can you now go out and get a shot of a Bateleur eagle this one is also new to me :rofl

What a series. Very nice action of an unusual bird. I have a picture of Jackson's Hornbill from the local zoo, but how lucky you are to have access to such wildlife in SA.

Thanks for posting pictures of rarely seen birds, Al. The are really great. You captured some great poses. The color and detail are really good as well. :thumb :clap

Cool shots.....they look very 'pre-historic'!Thanks Susan! They do look a bit prehistoric, but they are very agile in using those wierd bills!
