2 questions.....
I have a Sigma EX DG APO 1.4 tele coming.
I understand that I can only use my 80-400mm in MF but will the OS still work? :dunno
Also can I use it with my Sigy 105mm?
I see it's not on Sigma list of lens to use it with. :scratch

Also can I use it with my Sigy 105mm? Don't know. I do know that the 1.4TC will work with the BigMa - if you're careful and I don't believe it's on the "approved list" either.

SUPER!
Thanx for the info Scott!! :thumb
I DEFINITELY don't wanna ruin my glass being stupid.
I won't attach it to my 105mm or my 24-70mm if it's not on the list!
IIRC from my old days of film with my Tamron....
The rear glass when focused on certain Len's protrudes into the area where the tele would be.
Oh also I have read that you put the tele on the 80-400mm 1st before the camera.
Otherwise it will screw up the electronics in your camera body.
Just so others know!

I would think that if the camera is off, it doesn't matter what order things are connected. Is there any current flowing when the camera is off?

Well I have a 20D and when I insert a CF card with the camera OFF the red light comes on for a half a sec like it's reading the card.
So must be some kinda constant power. :scratch

There is a "standby sentry" power to monitor the cover for the card. This sentry "polls" the card so that that particular information is in the camera when you power on. It saves having to do that chore during powerup, which mostly saves time.
I don't believe that the same is true of the lens connection, which is established on power on.
I regularly leave the telextender attached to the camera while I change lenses, with no problem or ill effects. I do power off to change lenses however.
