This is a wonderful portrait, Wells. Great use of natural light, fine details that tell a story and a top notch B&W conversion. Very nicely done.

Thanks Scotty,

Glad you enjoyed it.

I love hearing the words "natural light" as I have been working on my (2) 580EX setup. This was shot with said setup.

I shot a series of pics with this cowboy and will be posting more as I process them. I did enter one in the latest LPS contest.

Randy,

I agree with Scotty; excellent capture. Congrats on your strobe mastery; I know it's difficult.

Regards,
Wes

Thanks a million Wes, but I assure you mastery is not the correct word yet :D . I'm really just getting cranked up with the dual 580EX setup for portrait work.

Guess I'll go ahead and post a few more...

NOTE: I would have loved not to have to crop off the legs on these, but I don't have any backgrounds yet and that darn sheet just isn't long enough. :cry

It was fun trying out different western poses.

And here is one that I also took with the dual 580EX setup, trying to simulate a portrait around a campfire. (After this pic, I did light a campfire for the picture I entered in the latest LPS contest.)

And for comparison sake, the shot by firelight.
