Can anyone recommend some particular blocks in the upper west side to find interesting looking brownstones? I am looking for interesting stairs to use for the subject of an upcoming competition.
Thanks

Hey there Bronx:
I seem to recall nice strings of highbay brownstones in the west 70s particularly between Amsterdam and Broadway.
Good luck :thumb

Hmm Upper West... Broadway and St. Nick from Columbia U down to 110th...
You can't avoid em in Harlem though. 150th on down to Central Park, St. Nick, Fred Douglas, Lenox, 5th, Madison, Park Ave...

Not in Manhattan, but if you pop over to Jersey City on the PATH (6 minutes from the WTC to Grove st.) They have some nice brownstones with stoops. I sit on mine most every night while the weather is good.

Let me engage in a bit of home town boosterism.

It's closer to midtown than Harlem is. You should check it out.
