I installed ACR 4.2 this morning, and immediately noticed some problems in Bridge with Canon 40D raw files:

Loupe won't complete its view resolution - big time jaggies
Loupe magnification stuck on 200%
Can't rotate thumbnails
No display of sRAW filesAll but the last were resolved by purging the thumbnail cache. (Adobe is not yet supporting sRAW).

If you are having similar problems, try this:
(Edit>Preferances>Cache>Purge Cache) - then close and re-open Bridge.

Everything is working fine, now. I haven't noticed any new features in 4.2 as yet, but I got so engrossed in working on the files, I forgot to look!
