Very nice captures. That one bird is funny. It doesn't look like a bird that would normally take nectar from a feeder. I'm not sure as to which bird it is but it may be a rose-breasted grosbeak in non-breeding plumage. It seems too grey though, but you never know.

hmm , you might be right Stephen...the color looks like it could be a female house finch , but the beak looks like what you're talking about.

either way:crazy Yeah, the beak and its stance made me think grosbeak, but I really don't know. :scratch

The third bird is a female House Finch.

Thanks for taking the mystery out of close up hummingbird captures Randy,
I'm off to the pet store right now to get me a feeder :wink :D
If you like you can crop the feeder out on the last one, that's a great shot:thumb

btw, the sigma 300 2.8 is for sale since I got a 120-300 but after looking at these pics I might keep it
