I tried to get some pictures of our humming birds today, but found them uncooperative. Instead, I got this shot of a moth in the grass:

What? Hummingbirds uncooperative? Nah, I don't believe you. :wink Hey, but that is a nice moth. I bet if you had used your 100mm macro lens with the tubes you could have had an even more interesting shot.

Thanks Stephen! This was actually with my 100mm macro, but I didn't have the tubes out since I was planning on the bird shots. This guy was too flighty for me to get close enough to use the tubes anyway. I would have loved to get a close up of his eyes with them, but I would have had to be about 5-6 inches away for that.
I couldn't get within 2-3 ft of him before he flew off to a new spot on the grass. This shot was actually cropped in a lot to get rid of all the extra grass around him in the original and so he wouldn't look microscopic. :rofl
One of these days I might get lucky though. :D
Thanks for looking!

you know if you stepped on him first then it wouldn't fly away & you could get as close as you need:D

:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
Yeah, but would anyone really wanna see the 'after' shots??? :huh
I'm thinking more along the lines of waiting till the weather is cooler and they all start moving slower. :D
I'll keep a shoe around for plan B just in case though. :ivar
