Mt. Clements silhouette

I took this photo just after the sun went down behind Mt. Clements.
I like it as is but am wondering if it would have been better if the foreground wasn't so dark, Any thoughts or suggestions?

I think shots like these can and do work well enough on their own. A person might want to play around with cropping to taste and see if more power could be added by doing so. Might also saturate the blue and see if that adds anything you like. My crop took out the tree to the far left and was just above the remaining tree to the left. That took out a lot of the blue sky upper left and placed the brightess part of the sun more left in the frame. Just a thought.

These days when I see a scene like that I itch to move just a bit further back to get a Muench Star (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=64419&highlight=muench+star) over the crown of that peak! :D Otherwise I think that the shapes of the trees make for a pleasing silhouette. Though I do think the composition is a little top-heavy, I am not left wishing for details in the shadows. :thumb

Its a lovely shot, I'm with Schmooo on this, the Marc Muench Star would have really set this shot off :thumb

Thanks for the comment Skippy. After giving it some thought I will definitely give the Muench star a try next time although in the case of this photo it seems to me that it would have made it seem gimicky. Anyway next time the oportunity arises I will try it with and without the star to see what I prefer. Thank you again.:D
