Best Page Size

I have been viewing my web site (www.mlyphotography.com (http://www.mlyphotography.com) ) on my laptop (1400 x1050) and it looks fine. I looked at on my desktop (set at 1024 x 768) and it was really too large. You had to scrool to even see the slide show on the first page.

What recommendation do you have for the best screen size to design for these days?
