I am a n00b and have been looking for a probably obvious answer, but can't seem to find it.
Can I have a gallery with one shot and a link to an offsite page? I have a bunch of sports photos from my kids High School, and I also do a video recap of the sports games. I have the video on a different site which does video well. I would like to have a page where I can inform viewers that the video is ready (it takes longer to go through my footage and get teh video ready than post the photos). I hope to stop a few e-mails asking "when will the video be ready".

I added a description to a gallery, and that works OK. I really would like to have a shot from that game, that will launch the link. Otherwise text next to the photo with the link would be OK.

Is this possible?

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff -
From your description, it sounds like you want a gallery with a single photo that links outside of smugmug. I know of two ways to do this - although there may be more.

The first would be to use a journal-style gallery with a single photo, and include text in the caption of the photo to link to your video. I use a journal-style gallery to link outside of smugmug from the photo captions: http://denise.smugmug.com/gallery/3175657. Here's an example of a caption you could use (although obviously you'll need to fix the link to link to your desired location):<html>
Click <a href="http://www.ACS-Photos.com">here</a> to display the video.
</html>

The second would be an html-only gallery where you can include an image that can be clicked to take the user to the video. The Kaleidoscope gallery - http://denise.smugmug.com/gallery/2659217 - on my site is an example of an html-only gallery that shows photos that then link somewhere else. In my case it's within my smugmug gallery, but there's no reason why it has to be. Example: <html>you can include any description here, then provide a link to the video plus the location of the photo in html. The example below uses one of my photos and galleries. You'll want to replace the URL in the <a statement with the location of your video and the URL in the <img src statement with the location of your photo.

Remove the * before img src and a, the forum software was swallowing the html without it!

[CODE]<html><*a href="http://Denise.smugmug.com/gallery/3024411/1/188239916"><*img src="http://Denise.smugmug.com/photos/188239916-S.jpg"></a>
</html>

Thanks Denise. You hit the nail on the head. I set up your first suggestion, and we are rolling.

Please stay tuned for the next few mods...:thumb
