What are you best Flower pics and how did you do them?
Also what did you take them with?

Here is one I took about 15yrs ago with my Minolta X700 with a Tamron 60-300mm.
Using a Tiffen 4pt Star Filter and a Tiffen Polarizer.
(Sold in a matted 8x10 for $75 at the time)
I hope to be able to do this again with Digital!!

Cherry Blossoms taken with the same Camera/Lens as above.
Put in a 8x10 with a Black oval matte and sold for $50 at the time.

I like this one very much. I never thought about masking my rose shots, but I may try that this spring when I shoot a new crop. Is that a "Simplicity"?

WOW! All these photographs are amazing. How do you achieve such awesome close ups and results? Is it just using the macro settings on a digital camera or something? Or do you need high powered telephoto lenses etc?

boy after all those replies, this one doesn't seem that special, I know the composition is boring, but I really liked the soft color...

This is a pretty old one, but I haven't found a blossom on this "Antika" that matches the color yet. Maybe this spring. :dunno

"Sombreuil"...supposedly grows like a weed. We get three, maybe four killer blossoms during the season, and the rest are wimpy. :dunno ...it just doesn't like my soil or something.

My favorites are this one of a pair of wild roses, which I've already posted in another thread:

This one of a lone wild rose, which could probably benefit from a touch of cropping:

Gonna carry a black non-reflective cloth with me for a backdrop this Spring/Summer to do this.
Is that how this was done??

Looks AWSOME! :thumb

THANKS!! I did this one when I was learning about masking and trying to use the magic wand for the first time. That simple technique made one of my more popular photos. I have tried it a few more times with different, but not with the same success. Beginners luck I guess.

That's one technique I've used. I like to have some tinge of green in the background, so I tend to underexpose by 1/2 to 3/4 and bring the blossom back up in PS.

This is my best shot of a flower. It was one that was connected to those sharp weed things that are usually associated with something pretty. But i love it even more for that.
