First... nicely done, and HH? That's a great example of what a little IS can do.
Question.... is that a crop or a FF image?

If I wasn't all PUI, I'd go out with a larger lens. Maybe I will...is it still
cloudy out?

Thank you. Yes, HH. At 3.2#, I'm not sure I'd call it "little," but yes -- IS is amazing. I'm still fighting the temptation to release the shutter prior to the image stabilizing. But a little patience pays big dividends.

100% crop.

Can you wait a day or two so I can bask in the glory of my meager focal length?

You're asking ME if it's cloudy where you are? :huh :crazy

I am at work. Yes. Work. I am working on moving to data centers this
weekend. We are done with the first and tomorrow at o-dark-thirty, t he
second starts. I need to be in LG for that.

Hopefully, done by two-ish...at least I hope so.

Very cool shot. It would have been a lot nicer if you could have put an egret in there someplace. :rofl

Not really all that remote. I'm in a valley about 10 miles south of downtown SJ. Far enough that there's not that much light pollution.

That is an egret?

On this side of the states, they are white. Maybe it is a southern thing.

Beautiful shot Fish!! (Don't tell Harry but I like it better without the egret).

Thanks MHJS, waxy, ginger, and nir. Think KPOTD will like it? :cry

Ginger, it's a reddish egret (or something) that I snicked from one of Harry's posts. He'll be able to tell you exactly what it is. I think it's fairly rare, but as we all know, when harry shows up with his egret attractant, they mob him like a bunch of whackos on jacko.

great shot dude, makes me yearn for a dslr even more. this s50, while great for general shooting is still just a point and click camera and has its limitations.

Ah hell, you'll put it to good use and get your money's worth. With the amount you shoot, you'd be broke if you were on film. This one's a no-brainer for you.
