Well I finally finished the fire season, and I'm off the crew and have my life back, so my first action was to climb and climb and climb. Here's some of the results:

Kelsey working a climb along the Seward Highway, just outside Anchorage.

Another of Kelsey on the same route.

Another route nearby, overlooking the Turnagain Arm.

Shasta watching the sunset from the top of the climbs.

The sunset alone.

From there, we drove for a couple hours and crashed overnight in a cabin in Hatcher Pass, waking up to a crystal blue sky, which is unusual for the area. We took advantage of it, and spent almost six hours on the wall.

Looking down on Kelsey and Richard following behind Shasta and I.

Shasta grimaces up an offwidth. We're all a bit bloodier for this experience.

Richard topping out in the same spot as the previous picture, with Kelsey and Shasta looking on.

The mighty Kelsey at the belay. He's Prezwoodz here on dgrin, so you all know him.

Kelsey's belaying style has disturbed more than one climber, but it's okay, we share the same bad habits. :rofl

Richard greets Kelsey at the belay.

Shasta works up the ridge on the last pitch, with Richard and Kelsey waiting below.

Good stuff, I really like #3 - the inlet and mountains make a nice background. But that one-handed belay of Kelsey, wow, that might make me a bit nervous myself... :uhoh Fun shots though!

Hehehe, not to worry though, actually with the system he has there, he's essentially just a backup since it locks automatically in a fall. He's not a bad belayer, I promise. Just a photographer! :rofl

Thanks for the comments!

Looks like you got Prez back from his travels too :D

Nice work on the shots! I think my fave is the sunset shot.

Great stuff as usual. It's nice to have our two Alaskans back home climbing!:clap

"Shasta watching the sunset" is my fav. Reminds me of why I climb, not just the hard moves but the people and places and views.

Some of the shots could use a bit of fill flash to help them pop, though. Wondering if I'd bring a good flash unit up a wall in Squamish...

Good collection, thanks for sharing.

Its great to be back home! I'll go anywhere for climbing. The fact that its at home just makes it sweeter. ;)

Nice rack!!!

No, seriously - that's a LOT of gear Prez carries! I read that part in his thread, where he took a photo of his gear on the ground and talked about lugging it the whole way, but didn't really appreciate it until I saw this photo! Ready to climb just about anything, eh? :lol3

Great shots! Seems like your whole Alaska crew is enjoying a great summer!

If you think HIS rack is big... :rofl

Actually mine wasn't even big enough. I still need MORE GEAR.

We're definitely enjoying our summer for all that it's worth, since we both missed pretty much all of it. Climbing season is over in about a month, when this area gets snowed over and the road closed off, but until then we should be out quite a bit! Thanks for the awesome comments all! :thumb
