I am working on my technique getting ready for spring migration. Light was really sweet when I tooks this so I didn't want to use any fill flash.

Hey Lou,

First I want a 500mm lens real bad! I am insanely jealous of folks who have one while I don't. Just to let you know.

Nice pic btw. I have trouble getting shots like that because I don't have a 500mm lens. :tough

I hear you Harry !!

I was using a Tamron 28-300 and then a 100-400 (which I still use a lot) all last year. I tried the TC with the 100-400 but it was just to fustrating.

I figured it is best to spend the money on glass instead of a 1DMKII. Glass is forever and there will a 30D someday.

I was at the bronx Zoo over the weekend and the 500 was to big.. I was in the reptile house with kenko tubes doing macro shots :rofl

That's a lovely image, Lou. We have a lot of chickadees here at the house, but I've never seen one that close.

the 500 with the 1.4TC plus the 10D 1.5 FUV factor helps..
