Tough call,

I think they are both really good!!! the portrait version is a bit harsher/more mature birdlike image while the original, the landscape view, is somewhat softer. I like both a lot, but I think the 2nd one has a slight edge. I can't really express why, sorry :D

You are using this shot as a portait shot for your class. That being the case , this version fits that need more than the first version.
