Well, the bug shot or the window... both shots were accidents... The beetle landed on the roof in the wet paint while I was shooting my daughter and her friend... the window was a fluke, did not know I captured the reflection until I got home... any way my daughter loved the silver bug so she created a couple more... I don't shoot macro so these may not be that great... I'm trying to narrow it down to the window or "Garden Terminators"
Any comments or suggestions are welcome and most appriciated...

The window is my favorite of these, but I think it needs a little straightening.
Good luck!

Sorry, dude. The window has it over the bugs. The window seems a bit caddywhompus. (Spell that word! I dare you!)

Perhaps there's something wrong with me, because I voted for the bug love. To me it's the highest quality pic and it doesn't involve crusty bugs, although the garden terminators is a cute concept. My wife says she likes the window shot though.

Well, um .. my sweet innocent 5 year old :wow way impressed that bugs carry their babies on their backs like we do (http://stirfry.smugmug.com/gallery/3149992#172956290-L-LB).
Um, :dunno sure, sweets. They suuuuure do :wink. And I'm immature enough to admit that I like the bug porn picture LOL.
Is the picture of the window cropped? I'd love to see a bit more of the brick on the side, but overall I really like that picture. I think it's way cool how you caught that reflection unexpectedly - I love those kind of surprises in the darkroom :lust the crookedness doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I find it a bit endearing ... imperfect in keeping with the rest of the frame. Cool shot!
I'm not wild about the name though - to me "soul" implies a humanistic aspect, which I don't see in the picture. Eyes. People. That is what I expect to see from a piece titled with "soul". Maybe a window looking into people or reflecting people. Your picture strikes me as more of a window to the world or something along those lines, JMHO YMMV.

Thanks for all the great comments! Yes, I would stoop to bug porn if that’s what it takes, besides if Japanese beetles are not eating something they are doing it, or appear to be... I did straighten the window, but left it a little skewed on purpose because it really was crooked... I don't much like the window title either, and will probably come up with a new one if I use the shot... I might try and fix the caddywhompusness (I don't think this is a word) of the window... any way, very stiff competition...

If I was to make any comment about the bug ones, it would only be that I find the shadows too hard and the hightlights in the silver paint too bright in camparison.
So, if it was me, I think I would re-shoot and put a diffuser between the sun and the bugs to soften the light and reduce the hard shadows. I think you could get a lot more creative by controlling the light a bit more.
Although, while the title of the images informs me that these are Arny Schwarzabugs, the images themselves don't identfy strongly (for me) with the terminator theme.

Peter

not that I want to help a competitor, :D
but it seems like if you did the vertical lens correction in CS2/3, that would help "push" the top of the window back. It isn't the crookedness/settling of the window itself that bugs me, but that the top seems tilted to the camera. Makes me dizzy! But a shot worth un-caddywhompussing.
