Drago Growing Up

My GSD Drago is growing up. Used him as a subject for some test shots with my new Nikkor 50mm F1.8. Still need a lot of practice with this lens and it's narrow DOF. Even with the on-board flash I have an issue. Going to try some outside shots today.

Any hints on using this lens to it's greatest potential would be appreciated. I am sure as I practice it will get easier but this is one sharp lens for the price.

Cute portrait. Drago almost looks like he's smiling. The "Fantastic Plastic" is a great lens. I mean seriously. For the price, it takes excellent pictures.
