I didn't know it was a fatal until the following morning: 2 dead, five injured. All university students.
The fire was a few houses up the street from my girlfriends house. Lots of sirens at 4:30 AM. I couldn't sleep, grabbed the camera, the 18-200, the 50 1.8, the SB 800 illumo-gun, and the humm-pod (manfrotto 055NAT3 in army green)
2 hours later I came back and tried to sleep.

It's a weird feeling, isn't it? Sorta guilty, sorta wish I had got better photos, for the news, for the families?
Thanks for sharing your feelings about shooting scenes like this.
