Even though the sky is uneventful, the composition you have choosen really works well to balance the colors of blue, green and earthy reds. Works for me really well, great image.

I was hoping for clouds that day......but......I worked with the hand that was dealt to me. Thanks for the kind words about my photo.

I honestly don't think clouds would have improved this shot. If anything they would (for me) distract from the textures of the rock and the grass, and the different colors. I think it's perfectly balanced with a clear sky.
