Hi Shootout Attendees!
This thread is very simple.. We need to get a count of all the vehicles and who is in said vehicles for this trip. So, please respond here with the following info:
1. Are you driving a car? If so, what car, how many does it hold, and who already is assigned in your vehicle?
2. Are you riding in a car and you know already whose car you are in? Tell me.
3. Are you "without" any transportation to / from the park already? Tell me.
No side chatter here please :D Just the facts ma'am :bow
Please do not PM me or David on this - post here in thread.

I need to know how many seats in your car for "at the park" are available for carpooling while at the park.

We will be in Cadillac Seville that seats 4 if all of their gear is in the trunk.

I am driving (renting in Kalispell). I have zero passengers at this point. If I get 3 passengers to split cost, I will rent a full-size car. Else, I will rent economy size and can take 2 passengers. I'm happy to provide inside the park transport as well.
PM me if you need someone to help organize/arrange/match. I'm happy to help.

I'm flying Delta from LAX 6am Tue Sep 25 and arriving to Kalispel hopefully 11:41am (with brief one stop over Salt Lake city). I figure I'd be reunited with my luggage by noon ready to go.
If anybody gonna be there at the time with a room in the car, I'd gladly share the rent. :-)
I'm leaving Kalispel Sun Sep 30 5:10 pm, so if anybody's leaving the Lodge around noonish - 1pm, I'd hitch the ride and pay my share :-)
If nobody takes me any time soon (say by mid-August), I'll rent something myself and will offer a ride from and to the airport with the designated time frames.
Please PM/email if interested.
EDIT: Schmooo kindly offered me a ride, so I guess I'm covered :-)

I will be driving a 4 dr Geo Metro in from Colfax, CA. At this point I have room on the way there if someone wants to carpool.
As for in park, assuming everything is in the trunk I have room for 3 more people.

We have a car rented for the week, but won't be arriving in Kalispell until 1PM on the 25th. Technically we will have room for 2-3 more, although fitting that much gear may be tricky, depending on trunk space. If anyone is arriving that late they're welcome to ride with us as well as around the park.
ETA: Also our flight departs on Sunday Sept 30 at 1:50 PM so I am guestimating that we will depart St Mary's no later than 12 noon. Anyone leaving that early is welcome to ride back with us.

Greenpea, his friend and I are catching the AmTrak into East Glacier Park and renting a car there. As a result, we will be returning the car there on Sunday 30th...and need to organise a ride from there to Kalispell ?

We will be able to carry an extra passenger if needed.

1. I am driving a 7 passenger Nissan Quest
2. I am already transporting preshootout attendees Skippy, Phyxius and Gluwater.
We will drive into St. Mary from the north, probably aroud noon on the 25th.
Once we arrive, unpack and settle, take our luggage out, we will have comfortable room for two and squished room for three.

Kate and I will be driving a Barney moble. (aka a Barney colored Dodge mini van)
This van has no 3rd seat, so it will hold 4.
We will be arriving at the park from the south, (from Yellowstone) at no specific time, and leaving to the east (heading for Mn) at no specific time.
While at the park, 2 others could ride along.
Getting to and from the park, sorry folks, you're on your own.

I will be driving from Seattle leaving around the 19th or 20th and working my way to Glacier to arrive on the 25th.
I have a Ford F250 Crew Cab (seats 5 total - 4 working photographers comfortably) with a lockable cover for the truckbed. Foam backed carpet to protect gear in the bed.
No one riding with me so far.

Chris Pedersen and I will fly from SJC through SEA to Kalispell on 24-Sep and arrive around 2:35.
We will rent a "standard-size SUV -- Jeep Grand Cherokee (or similar)" according to Thrifty.
We will spend the night at Apgar Village Lodge and then drive to St Mary's on the 25th to meet up with the rest of the group.
I'm sure whatever we get from Thrifty will hold 4 adults with gear quite easily and we're happy to have the company if any are interested.
We return for our flight out of Kalispell at noon on 30-Sep, so I figure we'll need to leave St Mary's no later than 9am.

Rental car (make/model and # seats unknown) from car rental company (anything but Enterprise) will take me on a 3-day journey from Somewhere Near Chicago to Glacier. I am really hoping gas prices continue to drop. Route and stops unknown at present.

Tori Thompson and I are driving up from SoCal in her Nissan extended cab truck. Once we have our non-shooting luggage out of it, there might be room while at the park for one or two, but the gear has to go somewhere (safe) if we're hiking.
ETA it's their "full-sized" truck, not a mini.

I'm flying into Kalispell on 24 Sep and will be renting something there, staying the night in a motel, and then driving to St Mary the morning of 25 Sep. I'm room with cwphotos. The size of the car will be determined by other's interest of other prospective riders both from Kaispell and from those in the park during the shoot.

Beth, Teresa and I are renting a smallish SUV but we're getting in 4 days early and futzing around so I don't think we should plan to bring anybody else into Glacier. On the way out I think we're taking April and we'll be full.

My schedule for arriving in Kalispell is still flexible. I will either fly in on the 25th or maybe a few days earlier so I can scout around. I will be heading home via Kalispell on the morning of the 30th. In the next couple of days I will be booking my flights. I plan on renting a car and currently have no passengers. Anyone interested in sharing car rental let me know. I just need to return to the airport early on Sunday morning. :D

I just bought my plane ticket.
1) I don't have a car for this trip.
2) I have a ride back to the airport at the end of the trip on the 30th with Sizam+Beth+Teresa
3) I need a ride from Kalispell to the lodge on the 25th.
details:
-- coming at 3:35 pm on the 25th to Kalispell from SJC
-- leaving at 4:10 pm on the 30th to SJC from Kalispell with Sizam+Beth+Teresa
Is anyone coming in around the same time?

I am driving in from Seattle and will be passing through Kalispell the afternoon of the 25th. I don't mind swinging by the airport to pick you up and give you a ride to the St Mary Lodge. This applies to anyone else arriving at Kalispell early to mid-afternoon on the 25th without transportation to St Mary. I would like to head out to St Mary no later than 4-4:30 pm if at all possible. I can accommodate up to 4 passengers with luggage and gear.

Looking at the Super 8, by the airport (1341 1st Ave E), $58.50 - $ 65 for a queen sized bed. Also, the Outlaw Hotel (has a nice ring don't it?) 1701 Hwy 93S, queen room for $63 a night.

Scott,
I could use a ride on the morning of the 25th. I will be staying at one of the 2 places, in my post above. I will firm this up in the next day or two. If you could pick me up on the way to the park, I would appreciate it :thumb I will be the dumpy old dude with the red Smugmug hat standing by the side of the highway :rofl

I don't have anyone in my car except me so far. If anyone is leaving really early on Sept. 30, I'd rather chip in than rent on my own. I need to make a 7:00AM flight out of Kalispell on Sept. 30.
Also, I am probably staying at The Outlaw, arriving late on the 24th. I'm good to go with departure time on the 25th any time between sunup and noonish.

According to the nps website for Glacier national Park travel from Kalispell to St Mary Lodge will have to be via US 2 and US 89 around the park, not via the "Road to the Sun".:cry "The Sun Road will be closed to vehicle traffic from Avalanche to Siyeh Bend beginning 10 p.m. on Sept. 16. There will therefore be no access to Logan Pass after this date. The Logan Pass Visitor Center will close at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 15; a park ranger will be available in the parking area on Sept. 16. It is also envisioned that the contractor will use Sun Point for staging; therefore, it may not be available to visitors.Visitors will be able to drive 15.5 miles on the Sun Road from West Glacier to Avalanche and 15.5 miles from St. Mary to Siyeh Bend. Hikers and bikers will be able to travel almost six miles beyond the vehicle closure at Avalanche to the Packers Roost Road; however, there is no additional hiker/biker access beyond Siyeh Bend." http://www.nps.gov/glac/parknews/news07-52.htm

Yep. This is really disappointing.
Up until I read this, I thought that we'd still be able to get to Logan's Pass for some shots.
Well, I'm going to see parts of the park that I've never seen before.
Who knows, maybe there's some gems out there just waiting to be found.
Maybe we might have to take a day and spend some time with our friends to the north.

Well, Dave, you and all else are certainly welcome!!!!!
I've driven GTTS road once before - have to say that it is an amazing drive and beautiful to be the passenger for, but not lots in the way of pull outs and safe photo ops. I'll bet Mark has things in mind that will beat GTTS road. And, as I said, if any want to join us in Canada, eh, ahead or for our drive back home, please holler!!!!!

Just in case...
Kalispell - N on 93, E on 3 through the crowsnest pass, arriving in Pincher Creek about 4.5 hrs later. Meet the preshootout gang, tour Head Smashed In and travel on through Waterton? Loop through Waterton, and then back to Glacier.
Alternately, after the shootout, cross into Canada with us via Cardston (40 minutes from St. Mary)
