Hi you'll,

The last photographer has left for home and I have 1400 pics to process (ah, heaven). With my normal ratio of one keeper per gig this should result in 13-14 keepers. Here's one candidate fpr the keeper status. Yeah, I know Fish, its another egret

I actually saw an egret yesterday -- a place where I couldn't stop, and the bird was way too far for my camera's zoom.

Looking forward to birds and Florida non-bird pics soon!

Great pic as usual Harry.:clap I love how the wing touches the water, it kind of gives you a feeling of how big the bird really is.

Hey Dee,

You'll have to come to Florida to get those egret shots. We got them trained down here. :D

Thank you Lynn. My heart breaks for that little guy. I would glady contribute to a fund to get him shipped to Florida. At least he would have some sun before a gator got him.

Good luck with your egret shots.

I hope all those camera folks tramping through their homes, didn't spook the waterfowl for good. I'm sure Fish would be heartbroken if you didn't have any more egrets to shoot/post :smile6 I have to admit, your egret does look way more comfortable, in it's surroundings, than Lynn's squirrelsicle :lol

Thanks for sharing,
Steve

Hey Trish,

It went great. What a great group of folks. I took some of them to the dead tree in teh Wetlands. where the eagles roost and told them to keep an eye on it for the eagle. I turned around to snap a GBH and I felt a tap on my shoulder. When i turned there was that eagle just posing away. He really made me look good. :D

The eagle made an appearance at least once every day we were there. Everybody preferred the Wetlands as a shooting location over Meritt Island.
I'm really sorry you couldn't make. Why don't you and Craig come over Saturday and I'll fire up the BBQ and we will look at some of the pics.

Hey Andy,

The weekend was fantastic. Whenever a bunch of photographers get together its always a good time. We used each otehrs equipment (I got to use an 800mm lens, WOW!) talked shop and took thousands of pics. We even had a bald eagle make a daily appearance for us in the Wetlands.

The food was fine as usual. We have a bunch of fine restaurants in the area and I turned on the BBQ a couple of times.

Hey Steve,

I managed to get the visitng photographers to listen to me after one example of my wisdom and to break up into smaller groups. When we made our first visit to the Wetlands I tried to give them some pointers but they were all anxious to start shooting so they drove one way in a caravan scaring every bird in their path. My car went on a different track right to the dead tree where the raptors perch.

While they were scaring away various egrets, herons, etc an eagle landed on the tree so my car of happy photographers was happily snapping shots of the eagle while I went up to the road and waved my arms frantically to get the convoy over to the tree. They got there just in time for the eagle to wave good-bye as he flew off. They started paying a bit more attention after that. :D
