Very nice portrait. I love the way the pink of the flowers and dress echo each other. My only complaint is that the flowers overwhelm the girl. Not sure what you could do about it. Things to try: enhance the yellows; use blur to give it a soft focus look (takes the sharpness off the blossoms); vignetting.

I too like this shot much. But as a father of a young girl I am a softie for this type of shot.
I only wish I could see a tad more of her face. If you have another take sitting around that shows that consider posting it.

I never thought about vignetting, Gary! That would probably be really nice. Not sure when i'll be able to play around with that; i have yet to get PS-elements, and iPhoto05 is short on special effects, so i have limited PP tools. What do you think of cropping some off the bottom to reduce the impact the flowers have?

Thanks, Miguel! No, the other two takes are about the same... The reason it's more of a profile shot, is that the background would not have been as appealing at an angle that showed more of her face. I was using a 17-55mm 2.8, so i'm not sure that the dof would have been sufficient to "blur away" the side of the house.

I'm a sucker for this little one too!! My niece always gets alot of lens time when i'm around her!! (the inlaws are starting to tease me about it...lol) She's really keen on posing too, so, bonus!!

Sure. Whatever works!
