Hopefully, someone here can offer some suggestions.
Windows XP
1gig memory
CS2

My 2200, for some unknown reason, suddenly refuses to print a full sized image. I set every thing for 11x14 and it prints anywhere from a few inches to a bit over half of the image and then quits. Resize the image to 8x10 and the same thing happens. Help!

I've removed and reloaded the driver from the original Epson disk but to no avail. Turned off print spooling; didn't help. I did notice though that after reloading the driver, the preferences window is not resizeable and it cuts off part of the preferences. Before, everything was mostly text. Now, I get icons for text, b/w, photo, etc. Weird!

Mine's never given me any problems, but I'd suggest getting the newest drivers from Epson. Who knows what Microsoft updates messed up Epson's work :wink

Thanks for the bump David. Bob, I've reinstalled the driver from the original disk but to no avail. I was able to print a full 11x14 last night via Print Room. I'm going to try again today to print via PS and see what happens. I think some of the problem might be with PS. The print I made last night is a jpeg and in windows explorer, it shows as a 829kb file. However, when I open it in PS, it shows as a 39mb file. I cannot figure that out.

Hmmm... this may not be it, but it reminded me of an issue I used to have a long time ago on my Epson 1280 (I now also have an R1800). Any time I printed a full 13 x 19 that the file size was over 18 meg or so, it was hit and miss if the thing would print the entire document. Drove me crazy wasting so much ink and paper!!

...I then stopped using the parallel cable and used it with USB 2.0 and never had another problem! ..and never have with the R1800. Seems to me that the print driver didn't wait long enough for a response from the printer when there was so much data in the pipeline!

Hope this helps!!

I had the same problem with my 2200 (computer=xp, 2gig mem, dual core, amd64) ... drove me nuts ... switching to the USB-2.0 cable solved the problem.

oK, You've convinced me guys. I'll try the USB route and see what happens.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

Edit: Tried it and worked like a charm. Thanks again.

Oh, yeah. Parallel's too slow for the 2200 anyway. USB 2.0 all the way. Glad it worked :thumb

:ivar yeah!!

Glad it worked! ..what was weird to me was after you start having it work so wonderfully, you start to wonder why they even bother having a parallel port on the thing anyway. :scratch

Have fun!
