View Full Version : With SmugMug Pro, making a custom page for booking

Hi, I'm considering starting a photography company and might use SmugMug Pro entirely for this. I tried searching the forum to find an answer but couldn't find anything. Anyway, I would need a home page, a contact page (all html), many galleries, and a form for potential clients to make bookings of events that would email the information to us (presumably PHP).

Now, would it be best to integrate SmugMug into a site with all that, with the galleries tab let's say being the only SmugMug part or to use SmugMug to host everything. Obviously the latter is only possible if I can create such a form on a SmugMug page - any advice? Otherwise, is it easy to integrate SmugMug Pro galleries as one part of a site that already has the PHP and other pages sorted out?

Any direction on this issue would be most appreciate. Thanks again.

browse my site... once you enter hit the contact tab on the nav bar... WuFoo hosts the form and forwards and "hits" to me...
All of what you want is easily possible, as you'll see on my site...

Thanks for the tip. So how is SmugMug integrated into your site (or how is your site, including the form, integrated into SmugMug)? I haven't actually used SmugMug before beyond the basic service with a simple grid of galleries and no other pages, so I don't really know how pro accounts (or even advanced customization) work.

I'm not sure I follow your question. SmugMug is the host for the site. They provide a basic framework to build the site from and themes to use if you wish. This forum is available to aid in customization (many SM employees running the forum are around to help w/ questions).
With a Pro level account you can sell your images using SM as the "middleman". They provide the order fulfillment interface (for a cut of the profit, of course).

Click the Smugmug link at the bottom of the forum page. That will lead you to their homepage. There you will find a more comprehensive and less rambled answer to your question..
