Ghosting on new monitor...HELP!!!!

I purchased a new montor today... Samsung SyncMaster 226bw...
I used my Monico EZ Color w/ Optix to calibrate...
But I'm seeing ghosting to the right of everything... Any ideas?

Edit: I might not be saying it right... what I'm seeing is a shadow to the right of everything on the screen... Samsung site suggests only using 6 ft cable... I think mine is longer... think this would really do it?

You're seeing this with the monitor connected to the PC using the standard analog VGA connector or via DVI-D ??

analog VGA... my unit does not have a DVI plug...:(

analog VGA... my unit does not have a DVI plug...:(I have a syncmaster as well. I usually use DVI, not VGA on it though. I do know that when VGA is attached, I have some extra options/settings for setting the monitor. There is an 'auto' thing too, but it does not always look that good. Also make sure that the resolution is set to native.

I assume an older comp would not come w/ a DVI plug in... is there a way to change that by adding a different video card?

Yes, buy a new video card with one and follow the installation directions, assuming you have a free PCI slot or an AGP slot or newer. It also assumes your computer is not too old. Under 3-4 years you should have no problem.

You may have to "turn off" your computer's video"card" if it is integrated into the motherboard by going into BIOS setup at startup and disabling it there. Very easy to do, but places like Circuit City can do it for you if needed.

However, I'd try the monitor on another computer first. It is possible the 226BW (a great monitor, by the way!) is faulty.

Thanks for the input... I looked at card prices and I think I'll have to wait... I did solve the ghosting by buying a "high integrety" 10 ft cable to replace the 5.5 ft cable (that came w/ it) and the old extension...
