A college buddy of mine was about to put up his dad's old AE-1 on ebay. I told him that I was looking for an older manual film camera for a while now and that I'd buy it from him. He offered it to me for free! Friends are great. So I have a classic Canon coming to me. I'm excited about it, can you tell? Pretty excited to shoot a few frames in film again too.

Good deal! I used the A-1 and AE-1 in high school while on the yearbook and newspaper staff. I'd love to own those cameras again just for old time's sake. I know how your friend feels, I have things I'd put on Ebay but my real intent is to find a good home for the things I treasured. I'd much rather send them to someone here who can treasure them like I did that to a cold impersonal used camera store where the gear would just decay on a dust shelf.
