I agree. It looks like some sort of flare/light with a tree branch splitting it. Otherwise a very good image.

I have been hammering away at Photoshop for a little over 5 years so I am fairly well versed in using it. The process takes me very little time but to explain it would take up a whole page. Much of it has to do more with getting the contrast and sharpening right as opposed to the actual B&W conversion. When I have more time in the future maybe I'll write a tutorial on my entire conversion process from start to finish.

Thanks Tom.....your efforts to get the contrast and sharpening just perfect are evident and I realize it's not all in the B&W conversion, but much, much more involved than that. Thanks for responding. :D

I love the simplicity of your site, the range and amazing quality of your photos.

One area you excel at is titling your photos. You are very clever, subtle, and pithy. Many times your title opens up a detail in the photo I may have overlooked. We're all so rushed these days...:wink
