For a few days anyhow. I have 20+ photographers coming down to my area for a shoot starting tomorrow for the holiday weekend so I'm going to be pretty busy for the next few days. I'll see you all probably on Tuesday. Hopefully I'll have some pics that I won't be too embarrassed to share.

I'm going with the Tricolored Heron today. His body length is 24-26 inches and he has a wing span of 36 inches

Most of the other herons stand like statutes while they wait for some food to come along. No so the Tricolored Heron

The shoot sounds like fun! Let me know how 20+ photographers manage not to step on each other's toes...

The Tricolored Heron is always on the hunt and is rarely still

The only problem I have with them is taht they are a tad shy and vamoose as soon as they notice me.

I don't think I've inflicted on you all any of my B&W's so here's one of a fisherman at sunrise

Its going to be interesting especially at the Wetlands. I don't think I've ever seen more than 3-4 people there at a time. This should be a new record. I just hope the egrets don't move out because they think their neighborhood is going down. :D

LOL, re the egret's neighborhood. I have not thought of it as that large an area. 20 photographers on an acre or 3:rofl .

That was a very good flight shot. Having missed so many, I appreciate the good ones.

Cool bird. Nice black and white!

Have a good time!

g (Take some photos of the wetlands over run by photographers, they can be funny birds themselves.)

Hey Ginger,

Thanks. I love getting flight shots because I miss so many too. On that rare occasion when I get a decent one I'm thrilled.

I'm taking my 24-120 VR lens with me for the shoot. I can shoot birds any day (I live here). I'm going to be concentrating on getting shots of the photographers they are much rarer here than the birds. :lol

Super shots, as usual Harry :thumb :thumb

Hey, 20 people going out harassing the waterfowl......lol How kewl :clap

Maybe, you can get a few of them to join us here. Fish was just mentioning how this place could use more Egret/Heron shots :splat I've got to agree :lol

Not to mention that if they are Nikonians, it'll help balance the brand loyality in here....lol

Hope the shoot goes better than expected and thanks for sharing this beautiful bird :):
