How to have two columns on a category page

I've searched and searched and can't find an answer to my latest "wish"...

How can I get two columns on a category page the way I do on the homepage?

See http://leebutlerphoto.com/Landscapes for one per row where I would also like to get two per row...

I tried pasting the combined CSS lines that Mike put into the first post from Andy, but I'm not getting expected results. It limit the column width and puts the description below the thumbnail image, but it doesn't create two columns...
