Yes, but not directly, since smugmug only has space for a single domain. What I do is setup my primary domain as suggested by smugmug, cname (and I use A record so it works w/o the www, but read the warnings about this) and then for the second domain, I just forward it to my primary domain through my domain host.

Thanks Scott. I only need to do this for about two weeks. The forwarding suggestion makes sense.

May I ask, how do you do this?
My domain is hosted by www.joker.com (http://www.joker.com).

I would very much appreciate any advice. :help

There should be a section where you can change how your domain name is handled. If you can search on the site, use the term, "forward" and see if that leads you in the right direction.

I use GoDaddy, so I can't be more specific as to joker.com.

I also use Godaddy, and it's simply called "Forwarding" in the domain setup page. Maybe someone who uses Joker can provide the exact name/location of this option there.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Is it possible to forward a domain to a specific gallery in my smugmug site?

In other words have: abc.com point to abc.smugmug.com and have xyz.com forward to abc.com/gallery/3333333 ????

I went to my godaddy account and it took the syntax of a gallery, but I haven't seen it link properly yet.

Experimented and suceeded. You can forward a domain to a sub-gallery within your smugmug site.

This lets you segment your smugmug site, channeling customers looking for a specific area of photography to a psuedo-homepage of specific types of galleries...pretty nice :)

Oh...and by the way - it works with vanity urls as well!

So, xyz.com (http://www.xyz.com) can be forwarded to abc.com/xyz (http://www.abc.com/xyz) (which is actually /gallery/3333333.

Very cool.

advice pls:

my smugmug gallery is randyr.smugmug.com
I currently have a url named
carolina-sportsphotography.com setup to access randyr.smugmug.com using CNAME.

I have a new URL called charlottesportsphotography.com.
Should I forward the new URL to randyr.smugmug.com or
carolina-sportsphotography.com ?

Using forwarding will the address in the browser stay the same or will it change to randyr.smugmug.com ?

THANKS !

Hi!

I actually don't get your SmugMug site when I go to carolina-sportsphotography.com . :scratch

Assuming you had it set up properly, you'd keep the carolina-sportsphotography.com url because you used a CNAME. URL forwarding simply sends one url to another, so the url in the browser address bar will change.

You can have your 2nd domain use URL forwarding to your 1st domain, that way you keep "smugmug" out of the url. Does that make sense?
