Yes , you are right there !!!! I find I'm using the 2xTC on my 70-200/2.8vr most of the time to get the extra reach .
I find myself roaming around the town watching all the ponds looking for these guys to photograph !!!:wow

Herons and avian photography can get quite obsessive! At least, to me it has turned into that. :thumb
