My Mom just passed away (Age 63) and we put Her to rest yesterday. :cry
Me and my Sis have a TON of old photo's to go threw!!!!
I have started to restore and enlarge a few.
Here is a Classic of My Grandma and Grampa Eickmann's Wedding pic Circa 1938
I cleaned up and resized the other day.
Not bad for a rookie! :D

Yes, I am sorry about your mom.
On the photo, that is really a very good job. What struck me is how "real" the people look, if that makes sense. I have always thought of these older people, I am 65, but when I have looked at photos of my parents, or my grandparents, they somehow don't seem real. The photo of your grandparents makes the people look so real, so young, alive and vibrant.
I actually like both I guess. I love an old looking photo, too, with all the imperfections and faded color.
I have never tried to restore one, yours is the best I have seen, not having seen many. It will probably be a whole new service. You could make a business out of doing it.
On the other hand, I would not get rid of your originals, there is something special to me about the original.
I am sorry your Mom died.

I cleaned this one up and made it into a 8x10 for my Sister.
Took the dust....most of the hue out of it....threw a lil brightness to it and enlarged it.
Grammpa (Edward Eickmann) Gramma (Eleanor Eickmann) *Elearnor Scheller* and My Mom Judy Eickmann at age 2 Circa 1943.
Came out quite well seeing it was a wallet size pic to start with.

I like that one even better as it retains some of the old look. It was a wallet size? You did real good.
They are good looking people, too. Your Mom was so cute!

I'm sorry for your loss, Karz. I'll be at a funeral tomorrow.
Can you post the original scan of that first image so we can compare before and after?

Yeah it's been a tough time with everything so FINAL.
Sorry Fish to save space on my drive I didn't save the orginal.
All I have is a undusted....manually touched up version before I dumped the hue.
It was a nicely preserved pic to begin with. Always in a frame.
It had the usual spots/dust and stuff old film had back then.
What your seeing here is way better than the original ever was!

Karz - sorry for your loss.
It seems you have 2 threads going for this topic of fixing old photos. I made a comment over on the other thread that I think would work on some of the noisier photos you have here.

Karz, you're doing beautiful work. That first photo is so crisp and sharp. It's a fitting tribute.
I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Life sure is different when you lose a parent. You and your loved ones have my deepest sympathies.

It hasn't been easy but I'm dealing with it.
Having fun doing up these old pics.
I have a LOT to redo and resize.
Gonna burn them to a CD and put the disk in safe keeping.
