Greetings all,
I am a new member of the forum, and wonder if any of you have specific recommendations related to a secure eCard application that I can incorporate into my site.

I have been building out my gallery (http://photos.shaolinstudiospublishing.com (http://photos.shaolinstudiospublishing.com/)) and getting the hang of the SmugMug features.

In addition to the photo gallery, my main site (www.shaolinstudiospublishing.com (http://www.shaolinstudiospublishing.com/)) offers a collection of note cards that are offered for sale. I am considering adding an eCard functionality to the main site to allow visitors to send a limited number of selected card images as eCards to increase site visibility. One concern, of course, is that this could be an easy vehicle for spammers.

I really love the fact that SmugMug has a security feature enabled on the "send this picture" feature -- this is a great way to help prevent this auto-spamming. So, a few questions:

1. Can anyone recommend eCard scripts/applications that incorporate this security feature? and/or
2. Is there some easy way that SmugMug "Send this picture" fuctionality can be "piggybacked" from my main site to permit eCard sending of a limited number of note card images?

Hope that makes sense....thanks for any creative ideas you might offer. Apologies if this replicates an existing thread in customization.

Thanks,
Patrick

I can't answer your eCard question, but I just wandered over to your gallery. It looks good; I like the clean lines and simplicity.

I do have one suggestion though, and that is to not allow access to the original images online. Yes, you have right click protection enabled, but if an image can be displayed it is cached in the browser, and some one who is intent on getting (as in stealing) a copy will be able to grab it from there. Upload the originals for printing purposes, just don't display them...

Denise,
Thanks for the positive comments, and the suggestion to disable orginal images from viewing/potential download. Actually, the "orginals" are much lower resolution than the true orginals to increase site performance and reduce the unauthorized downloads, but your comment is a great reminder and I will disable that feature today....still hoping for secure eCard functionality so still looking. Enjoy the holiday and thanks for the suggestions...
