Some shots from the last week wedding. Minor touchup in LR (yes, I know, I decided to give it another try). No PS at all (hence some rough edges). I'm mostly interested in sharing the soul and mood at this point.

These are all great, Nik, but #8 just takes my breath away...awesome shot, for what that's worth. Absolute killer moment, and the mixture of backlight and fill gives it a lot of depth and tension....Wow.
The others are really nice (obviously need some cropping in a few) but you knew that. Were you the primary photog?
(I have a Huey on my monitor, yet I still seem to have color issues, so take this with a grain of salt, but there seems to be a lot of magenta in the first pic skintones.)

Lynne,
thank you, appreciate the comment.:thumb
Colors are mostly wrong - thanks to LR. I mentally dumped LR after beta, but when last Sunday I saw how David (primary photog on this gig, I only assisted) was processing our mutual 2400 shots with it I decided to give it another try. Unlike with Bridge/PS, I totally didn't know what I'm doing and simply fiddled with all possible sliders (all past midnight:-). Luckily, I'm not the person who's doing all the real processing for the client this time, so I simply had fun.
And yes, I do have Huey too, and I know what you're talking about ;-) :wink
Hence my very initial comment about colors/crops being all off..

Very nice job! And, like Lynne has already said, #8 is simply stunning. Love the light and the depth of the photo and the emotion in his face. Well done!

As I mentioned earlier, I didn't put too much time into PP, this was mostly a test run for LR...

Nik I know you want to hear one more time that #8 is the winner so..........let me just say #8 is a winner!!!! Great ambience, everyone looks happy, except the photographer in #9 looks a little disgruntled. Perhaps he's thinking ot the 2400 shots he gets to work up!!!! Nice job!

Nik,
I knew I had seen this couple previously[/img].
I was reading an article that I believe Andrew Rodney wrote about never using AWB balance. The tenor of the article was to ALWAYS shoot in something besides AWB. Even if it is the wrong white balance, it will always be off in the same way unless the light changes and thus can be easily corrrected in ACR by finding a white point and then using that as a basis for adjusting your images.
I think using a green photo filter and a selction of "redder" parts of the skin will work pretty well and pretty quickly also. The skin tone is usually magenta, not really red in many of these images. If it is really red, a cyan filter should do the trick.

Nik,
As I scrolled through I stopped short at #8 with a gasp and a "Wow!" It's the best "first dance" photo I've ever seen. Then I saw the other comments. No matter, my reaction was spontaneous.
It's not easy to work with the various skin tones all in one image. I don't envy you that job. But, you did a great job. Quality, not quantity is what counts. They will have lots to chose from.
