so thats 840mm f8? They look pretty decent web size... hows a 100% crop look? Did you take any comparison shots without one of the TCs on there?

Thank's in the camera window it said F4 and it auto focused, i think i took a few with the 2x only will have a look

So at f8 you would lose AF, right? I've tried the 1.4x on my 400/5.6 with the tape, but it's not fast enough for action shots. I would be curious on how it would perform...similar, I imagine.

The camera said f4 autofocus was quite fast, i used a Canon 1.4 and Kenko 2x seams strange that it autofocused
