Hi folks,
found a "snail of opportunity" on the way to my buddy's place. Happened to have my D70s and my new SB800 unit on hand. So I shot this guy, and this is the best I got. Not good, eh? How could I improve on this close up stuff in the future using the same gear (i.e no light rings, etc)?

Shot at 200mm handheld wide open (f5.6) VR and at minimum focus distance. I didn't use the diffuser cap, although I probably should have.
Thanks,
VI
