We had the tree pruners come out today to whack back an overgrown camphor tree and trim a few big hedges. Needless to say, I had to pull out the camera. Crappy light, crappy angles, and I'm not all that pleased with the shots from the 17-40L. I'll have to keep working at it. I think that lens really needs f8-f11 and handheld, I couldn't go smaller than f5.6.

Here's the Camphor tree just after they started working at it. It's been a rat freeway onto the roof of the garage.

I should have moved the cymbidium. Looks like it's time for a dump run too :lol

All the gear all the time. I guess squinting keeps most of the sawdust out of your eyes. :huh

Crusty stump grinder man.

You don't want to get your arm sucked into this thing. It barely slowed down when a 3" diameter branch went through it.

All done. I guess that's more of a French job than a Brazillian, huh? :wink

The older stuff does have a beautiful pattern in it if you have ever seen it turned.

1/200s isn't fast enough to stop a 5k RPM shredder.

And they smell wonderful.

Jeepers you trimmed that tree! Reminds me of my first crewcut. That guy with the walrus mustache would have been a good subject for a shot.
