With Hands - Central square in the village of Artemonas, Island of Sifnos, Greece.

Comments and Critique welcome.

I traveled to Europe for the first time last year, Greece specifically. Absolutely loved it; so much more so for the people and culture. The small villages were the best where McWesternization had only a small foothold. The street photography was a lot of fun and people were great.

One thing I learned, from an Athens cab driver who was more than happy to tell me the error of my ways - first in Greek and then in English, was not to hold my hand up palm out. While in the U.S. this can mean stop, or thank you for stopping or a simple wave, in Greece I guess it roughly translates into "up yours."

In the photo above, taken in a small village on the island of Sifnos, the man on the cart is the village garbage collector. I couldn't understand the heated exchange but I did get the general idea ;-)
