Note that at close focus (4.5M 14.8') the DoF does not expand much even at f/32

f/4 looks real tight. That will show any mistakes you may make. I would imagine it will take some practice to get the best out of it.

I can't wait to see some shots from this monster.

Very interesting chart. Did that come with your lens, or did you find it on the internet? Mind sharing the link??:wink

Edit: I just noticed that at f/4 and infinity focus, the near distance is 1.7km!!! I can't believe that is correct, is it?

There's a Harvard Square in the Philippines? What a coincidence.

The Canon Museum (http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/) is just plain cool! The write ups on every EF lens ever is here (http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/lens/f_lens.html).

Bear in mind that they are not using a hyperfocal distance. Figure about a 2 to 1 ratio for DoF in front of vs behind the point of focus. By setting the 'D' at infinity they are tossing the bulk of the DoF out past infinity

Wow, I visit the museum all the time, but I'd never seen those charts before. Thanks! :)
