Even though they've been getting alot of exposure here, I really enjoy watching Egrets or viewing Egret shots. Other than birds of prey, IMO, they are the most graceful and beautiful birds. Definitely one of my favs to shoot. You used the perfect word to describe them, "stately".

Another good job on your part, capturing this big fella :clap


If you get one in the snow (white sand maybe?) you can enter it in the Challenge :lol

I love watching Great Egrets. They just have this certain grace to them. One of the few things that I can safely promise you is that I won't be shooting no egrets in no snow for no challenge. :heh

Those egrets do put on a good show. I could hang out and watch them all day.
Its great when I'm the only visitor to the wetlands. Its just so peaceful. One day I'm gonna go down there w/o the long glass and just shoot swampscapes.

The Wetlands are an amazingly beautiful place. The pic doesn't do it justice. I'm amazed that the egrets stay so clean. If I wore all white in a sealed environment I couldn't do as well as they do in a swamp.

Nice shots Harry!

It's amazing to watch them work the slough for food. Here, they'll occassionally
get buzzed by a harrier or other hawk too.

It is amazing. I have watched them for long periods as they hunt and feed. Its the best show in town.
