I actually got out for a lunch break today. I went down to the Indian River and looked for something to shoot. These pelicans were fast asleep, but as I raised my camera to shoot this guy decided to leave...Guess he knew he shouldn't have been in the manatee zone?

off topic .. I was awakened early Monday morning by the sound of sirens that just wouldn't quit. I got up to see if I could see flames or at least an orange glow from fire as the sky was still dark. I didn't see anything. About an hour later and 2 miles away on my drive to work I noticed a mob scene at the fire house. ..many fireman lurking around.. I figured they had just returned from a big fire or maybe some sort of training. Yesterday their was a large fire truck blocking my view..
This morning I saw what all the noise was about....
I happened to have my camera with me ..... not very comforting...

That's a good one - fire station caught fire. I love the grays in your bird shot, nice and sharp too.

I love the "Fire Station" shot. IMO it is a promising subject for B&W. The color in it distracts me.

Hmmm..I'll give it a try. shot more as a snap than art though.

Left their food on the stove while they answered a call? Just like a normal call, really. :rofl

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just check out any of my photos. :lol3

There's a difference between documentation and art. I kinda lean toward the documentation side of things. "let me show you what I saw and how I saw it" as opposed to "look what I just spent four hours creating with setup and post processing." Both good stuff, and I really appreciate the folks who spend a lot of time perfecting their images. I have a very short attention span (adult ADD), so really don't have the patience for some of that. Oh look! A chicken!
