I havent thrown out an image for a whipping since I joined this little thing a year or two ago. So.. here, whip my latest.
I'm interested in your ideas for cropping, color balancing, etc. Whatever you may think may help. :wink and also, what I did well so far.
Constructive Crit. people! spanks a lot.

It's very washed out. You need a lot more contrast and saturation (or B&W). What is that weird watermark at the top? Upside down text? But the fundamental issue is this: I've seen 10,000 pictures of Hoover Dam. You haven't given me anything new to look at here, any reason to care about this photo.

Thanks for you input Gary. :D I haven't done any photoshop work to it yet thats why I'm putting it up here to see what you guys and gals are thinking about. I agree with upping the contrast and saturation, I will do that. The markings up top and in the middle are watermarks, just in case it gets dl by a google/yahoo image searcher, so if I come across it, I'll at least know where it was torn from.
There are only so many ways to shoot Hoover Dam where the general public can access. However, I was able to gain entry to the secured area right next to the lake in the bottom and set-up shots there (shot some cars for a local car club, had the dam as the bg), rather than shooting from a boat or atop, so I thought I'd share this vantage point.
I'm still interested in where to crop though. I think it can be done nicely in a vertical position with the two tunnels on the left to the right of the dam itself. Or close in, with a horizontal crop to cut off elements at the top of the rocks. Some insight there would be nice.

I think you posted in the wrong place. Please read the Whipping Post Rules (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=13428). If you want post processing ideas, then you should post in the Finishing School forum (http://www.dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10) where you will get lots of post procesisng ideas including some people showing you results and you can have many iterations there. This forum is for shots that are already done and you already consider one of your best.
