Scott Quiers post of the interesting groom really brought back memories from my first wedding almost 3 years ago. I was still shooting film at the time and my close friend from highschool was getting married and lent me her Rebel XT to take pictures of her wedding. I thought, what the heck, I use the Rebel XT 35 mm, so it shouldn't be much of an adjustment. (little did I know) Anyway, The pictures turned out pretty good- of course it helped that the two were quite attractive.
She is quite reserved, in a zany kind of way. I had never met her future husband, and was quite surprised at her wedding to see what sort of fellow she chose. He is quite the catch- and they will have much fun in their life and are a beautiful couple.
1. The first is him in his tux, playing on playground equipment (on a day with quite a bit of mud from the rain the night before) in his TUX about 1/2 hour before the wedding:

The next is of him tossing her around. He really enjoyed hefting her around all the time. People later accused him of being quite drunk, and he swears up and down that he had not had a drop! He was just overjoyed-

I think she likes it though...

When it was time for the garter toss, they were atop the roof of the building... and he climbed OVER the rail! His MC was about to have a cow.

And then when he started to pick up his bride for her flower toss, you should have seen the MC get antsey...

I really never knew what he was going to do next- weather a spontaneous dip...(he really was quite romantic)

Anyway... it made for great pictures. I have a ton more of him having the time of his life- and she really enjoyed it too. It was pretty fun for my first plunge into the world of wedding photography to have someone like him to photograph.
to have a very photogenic couple, and such a vibrant groom. He almost outshines the bride! :rofl Very good photos by the way, for a first time digital user!

Yeah, I sure was lucky. They are a very nice looking couple and people love to see pictures of this wedding in my portfolio. I had the digital camera only 1 week before the wedding, and still hadn't figured out how to set the white balance with the camera- I was very, very....lucky with how they turned out. She was more than happy with the pictures- (and can't beat the price!) and still ... looking back after many many more weddings, it was one of the more beautiful couples and settings. It was a great start for me and my business.

WOW - That is simply a fantastic start to your business. I would give an awful lot to have a couple like that! I can only hope to have one such as that any time soon.
The photographs are pretty good to - especially for the first time with a digital.
