You're getting some detail o a tough exposure. I would slow down the shutter speed or open up the aperture a tad more. Have you tried some fill flash?

Could you explain this, Harry? Why would he want to slow down the shutter speed? Also, I notice he shot these at F9. I'm guessing he was close-in, and his depth of field seems perfect to me. Can you elaborate?

Joel Harry means to get more exporsure from the light the subject is in
hence
either slow down the shutter or
open up the aperture
In Ric's shots I would of opened up to say something below f8 and yes fill flash would of been good here as well
