You captured a cute moment.
A little bit much on the black vignette though.
Shot looks a tad underexposed for my taste.
Other than that, it's a nice snapshot.

The only thing I don't like about this shot is the skin tones. The boy is very cute. It's a nice moment. It ain't art, but it's not meant to be.

But the skin is WAY to magenta. You need to start over with the processing with the original file and bring the skin tones in line. Check our tutorials link in my sig or in the navbar at the top of the page for more info, if you need it.

I'm not always crazy about vignetting, but I like it here. Really, everything is good except the skin.

Hi,
Thanks for your comments. I have redone this image with your recomendations in mind. I reduced the opacity of the vingette layer and read the tutorial on skin tones and twweked them some what. Let me know what you guys think. I am still learning and this is a great learning tool.
Again Thanks

hes adorable. love the expression on his face and his rosey cheeks, looks very natural. wish i could have seen the original though. i like the way you burned-in/vigenetted around the bg, however, i think its just very..very slightly overdone. i think you could have left more room on the bg for some highlights, but it still looks good. the only thing left over to be concerned about are the whites on the straws and the dots on the cup. theyre slightly overexposed. if you shot in raw, you can remedy that by underexposing and then lowering the amount of highlights (vs shadows), through the raw-processing program of your choice. it is a candid photo though, so timing is always critical; cant always be perfect when you need to be. next time, try to underexpose by 1/3 or 2/3 a stop so that the cup doesn't get too bright. then just brighten up the rest of the image with the dodge tool.

You have a good eye. Thanks for your input. I usually do shoot in RAW but in this case I was shooting in TIFF and can't quite fix the exposure for that cup and straw. Guess I learned a lesson. Keep shooting RAW.

Again Thanks
