It's a two-image composite with the Shadow-Highlights overdone on the top part? :dunno

Maybe I'm way off...but I was thinking more along the lines of - how do you get to the boats? Where's the dock? Do you have to take a boat to get to your boat, which is so nicely tied up in the middle of the water? Like I said...I'm probably looking too hard and don't know much about boating!

Another thought...the large sun beams don't seem to be coming from quite the right place? Are they fake?

Nik was actually spot on. :clap(gets a cookie) The top part was taken in Idaho, Priest Lake last year. And the bottom part was taken 2 days ago in Seabeck, WA. The original shot was a little dull so I did a little composite work.

Question to Gus........... what is a plimsoll line?? :scratch

Elaine: The sunbeams we're actually real. My new adopted family (my wife's family) takes an annual camping trip to Priest Lake, Idaho. They've been doing it since she was little and I can't wait to someday continue the tradition with my own family.

It's freakin gorgeous up there. The top shot was taken my first day there, it was cloudy, windy and cold then the weather started to break.

Yeah...for those that like pictures & dont like reading like me. Its the line of paint that shows if the ship is listing athwartships or other wise. (http://www.geocities.com/freighterman.geo/plimsoll.jpg)

Reading is for nerds, :D but consider me schooled.

What a great forum, where else can you learn about photography AND you learn what a plimsoll is! Now if I can only remember which side starboard is. :scratch and what on earth a yardarm could be.
